Jon’s Street Eats - Alameda, CA
This truck got great reviews and I can’t argue. We tried almost everything on the menu:
grilled corn with gremolata
a reuben burger on tasty rye swirl with a top quality patty
amazing mac and cheese with pancetta baked as a little cake, served with vinegar-y greens
delicious rich pate on toast
grilled asparagus wrapped in proscuitto
an imported real sugar coca cola
and everything, everything was so tasty. fresh ingredients and a great balance of spicing that elevated the main ingredients by letting them shine.
since my visit, i have read that he is leaving the food truck game to be a chef. which is, let’s face it, a tragedy.
